Job Responsibilities:

• Take appropriate action to protect life and property
• Extinguish fires
• Train with fire apparatus/care and upkeep
• Perform rescue operations
• Makes daily inspections of the apparatus and equipment
• Maintains all related equipment, building and grounds, station house assignments
• Must have general knowledge of computer use
• Keeps essential records and files
• Familiarize themselves with the area of the Township
• Performed related duties as assigned
• Perform their skills and techniques through study and training

Minimum General Requirements:

• Must be a citizen of the United States and resident of the State of New Jersey
• Good health and sound body and can perform duties associated with firefighting
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Pass a background check and medical physical
• Possess a valid NJ driver's license
• Five (5) years prior experience as a Firefighter

Required Certifications:

• NJ Firefighter I Certification
• Advanced Pump Operations Course certificate
• Advance Truck Company Operations Course certificate
• Incident Management Level 1
• Successful completion of in-house training on assigned apparatus

Per Diem Schedule:

• Five days per week - Monday thru Friday
• 8 hour per shift - Maximum 16 hours per person/week
• 1st shift - 06:00 hrs - 14:00 hrs
• 2nd shift - 13:00 hrs - 21:00 hrs
